What is Story Work?

Story Work is a common name for engaging your past through narrative. My particular training comes from the Allender Center where I trained for three years in Narrative Focused Trauma Care. The core premise of Story Work is that we don't heal in generalities, we heal in the particularities of our story. This is why engaging the details of your story is so powerful. The two ways I facilitate story work is through individual story engagement and Story Groups.

Individual Story Work

Individual Story coaching guides you through the process of writing and understanding your story. Beginning in the greater context of your culture and location, we move through your family of origin, looking at the roles you played in your family, the ways you learned to relate to others, the messages you came to believe about yourself. Together we engaging these formative stories.

Quick FAQs:
How much is each session?

Sessions are $150 and are 45-50mins.
I usually space session out in an every other week rhythm.

How many sessions do you recommend?

Typically 3-7 sessions depending on your previous experience with Story Work.
For someone brand new to Story Work, I recommend 7 sessions in order to engage multiple stories together.

Story Groups

A story group is a sacred space of healing and connection; it is a safe container for sharing your story and bearing witness to another's story. In order to heal from our places of harm, we need the kind eyes of others to help us see our story in a deeper way. Because we are harmed in relationships, we are also healed in them. This is power of a Story Group.
